gulf hills hotel & retreat on the water is a gem! we loved how quiet and relaxing it was. the staff was super friendly, especially the warm welcome from cameron. our newly renovated double room was cozy, clean, and included ceramic coffee cups for us coffee lovers! it's perfectly located just across the highway from the entrance, making it easy to explore.

The room was a bit dated but cozy, and the bed was super comfy. Everything was tidy, and I appreciated the ample lighting. TV had a ton of channels, and the shower had solid pressure. Just a heads up, the mattress and pillows were pretty hard. No USB outlets, which felt a bit outdated, and the Wi-Fi was a pain to connect to. But it was nice and quiet, away from the traffic. Had a good night's sleep overall!

However, construction work was invasive, with debris scattered around and the pool currently out of service, which continued throughout my stay. The gaps around the room door allowed for noise and insects, which could be a nuisance for light sleepers. Lastly, the visible sheetrock mud and mismatched furniture gave a feeling of neglect that felt off for what I expected.
